The Licensing program forms creative partnerships with manufacturers who draw inspiration from the thousands of cultural artifacts held in our museums to develop unique and stylish products. Our partners have access to the collections for design inspiration and, if they wish, use of the museums’ name in marketing the product. Depending on the nature of the partnership a design fee is charged and/ or a royalty or percentage of the wholesale price of every object sold. Revenues generated from this entrepreneurial program provide much needed financial support to the Museum of New Mexico system.
Established in 1909 in Santa Fe, the Museum of New Mexico is one of the largest state-run museum systems in the United States and is comprised of four museums, seven historic sites and the Office of Archaeological Studies. With four world-class museums and more than 500,000 objects from over 150 nations, the Museum of New Mexico contains one of the richest and most diverse design archives in the world.
